Farm Credit of Central Florida holds first virtual Annual Meeting

Lakeland, FL (Sept. 18, 2020) – Every year Farm Credit of Central Florida conducts a business meeting to provide Association updates and provide eligible stockholders the opportunity to vote for the individuals to serve on the Farm Credit of Central Florida board of directors, as well as the individuals who will serve on the nominating committee for the upcoming year.  This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and concerns for the well- being of stakeholders, Farm Credit of Central Florida held its first virtual Annual Meeting August 6, 2020.

Subsequent to the online event, director elections were held by mail-in ballot. The following seats have been certified by Raulerson, Castillo & Company, which served as an independent tabulator:

Director Position # 7, Area C – Randall E. Strode, re-elected
Director Position # 8, Area A – Keith D. Mixon, re-elected
Director Position # 9, Area B – Reed C. Fischbach, elected
 
W. Rex Clonts, Jr. currently serves as the Board’s chair, his term is set to expire in 2021. Keith D. Mixon holds the role of vice-chair, his term is set to expire in 2023.

Also during the meeting, the following member-borrowers were elected to serve on Farm Credit of Central Florida’s Nominating Committee until the 2021 Annual Meeting:

 “While we were unable to hold our traditional in person meeting this year, it was important that our members were able to continue their grass roots involvement in their Association,” said Association President and CEO Reggie Holt. “The engagement, support and adaptability shown by our member-owners during these uncertain times is greatly appreciated.”

Farm Credit of Central Florida is a member-owned cooperative serving 13 Central Florida counties, including, Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Volusia and Brevard. Part of the nationwide Farm Credit System established in 1916, Farm Credit of Central Florida provides loans, leases and crop insurance to over 1,000 farmers, ranchers, growers and rural homeowners.
