Farm Credit of Central Florida donates $100,000 to Florida FFA Foundation

Lakeland, FL (January 5, 2021) – Farm Credit of Central Florida recently donated $100,000 to the Florida FFA Foundation. The donation will support the Foundation’s efforts in carrying out the Future Farmers of America (FFA) mission: “To make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.”

Farm Credit of Central Florida CEO Reggie Holt said, “With all of the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, we are proud to be able to provide support to an organization that has such a positive impact while equipping future farmers with various skills that will be used throughout their lives.”

The donation was presented to the Foundation Board during their most recent meeting at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center. The Foundations board chair William Hamm had this to say, "Farm Credit of Central Florida has been a longtime partner of the FFA in Florida. They have always been ready and willing to help out in any way they can. This latest major assistance makes it possible for the Leadership Training Center to weather the pandemic's difficulties and challenges. This facility has been around for over 30 years and now, thanks to Farm Credit Central Florida, will be here for another 30 years. The trustees of the FFA foundation appreciate the efforts that Reggie, the board and staff at Farm Credit have made on our behalf and look forward to a continued partnership in the years to come."

Giving to the Florida FFA Foundation is one of the ways Farm Credit upholds its mission to support agriculture and rural communities.

Farm Credit of Central Florida is a member-owned cooperative serving 13 Central Florida counties, including Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Volusia, and Brevard.
