From all of us at Farm Credit, we wish you a safe and happy new year! We were honored to serve you throughout 2017 and look forward to an excellent 2018.
2017 was a year for the books here at Farm Credit of Central Florida. We are proud of another year dedicated to our customers, community, agriculture and rural America. There have been ups and downs, but in the end, we accomplished our mission and continued to focus on the support of our members.
We are exceptionally proud of the community service initiatives we made in 2017. This past year we participated in multiple charity walks including Polk County’s “Making Strides 5K walk” for breast cancer. We packed nearly 4000 meals at Feeding Tampa Bay. To aid farm workers impacted by Hurricane Irma, we donated $15,000 to the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association and donated supplies to help with the rebuilding and restoration of Puerto Rico.
One of our favorite projects this year was participating in “casual for a cause” in which our employees had the opportunity to wear jeans on Fridays if they donated to one of the selected charities. This year we donated over $3,000 to three charities. Florida Baptist Children’s Home, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the American Cancer Society were the three charities highlighted by the team’s donations. We have the same plans for participation with this project moving into the New Year.
This year we plan to continue our focus on the community by partnering with VISTE, Volunteers in Service to the Elderly by providing them with fresh produce. We plan to participate in a Relay for Life event and many other community events are being planned by our Diversity and Work Life Committee.
Above all, we would like to thank all of our members for investing in us this past year. It is a privilege to do business with you. Farm Credit of Central Florida looks forward to another successful year, full of opportunity to grow, learn and succeed.
